Centenary
2013 is the Town Hall Centenary. Over the Centenary Weekend, Friday 24th - Bank Holiday Monday 27th May, we are planning a series of events to appeal to everyone in Masham, from gala concert to party night to children's event, with a vintage fair and craft/food fair added in.
More details available soon, but if you live in or near Masham block that weekend out for some serious celebrating and commemorating!
Centenary Exhibition – Can You Help ?
The Town Hall Centenary will also include an exhibition of Mashamshire life and Town Hall activity over the last 100 years, organised by Making of Mashamshire, a community heritage project run by Mashamshire Community Office and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. And we need your help to put the exhibition together...
Do you have old photos of the Town Hall we could copy?
Can you share your memories and stories with us – in writing or over a cup of tea?
Was your family involved in running any of the activities over the last 100 years and you have club papers or archives we could look at?
Do you remember the wrestling or the Scalextric? Did you come to the dances?
What are your early memories of cinema? Did you visit the building during the war?
If you can help, or are interested in becoming a Heritage Volunteer to help with the exhibition, have a look at the Masham History website.
